The Family Child Care Home Education Network (FCCHEN), also known as the “Network,” is an educational enrichment program for children ages Birth-5 years that are eligible for the Child Care Payment Program and who attend family child care. The Network is funded by the California Department of Education

FCCHEN staff visit monthly with participating Network family child care providers and work together to create nurturing and supportive learning environments for children. Activities are offered during site visits including, but not limited to: early math, science, early literacy, and art.  All children in the family child care home are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the activities.

Network Providers have the opportunity to receive:

- On-site trainings/technical assistance
- Activity materials
- Toy Library delivery
- Quarterly newsletters
- Activity/Curriculum Calendars
- Information to share with parents

FCCHEN staff complete developmental assessments (the Desired Results Developmental Profile) for each child enrolled in the Network and meet with parents twice per year. We also make referrals to outside agencies when further screenings may be needed.

We encourage parents to become involved in the Network by participating as a member of our Parent Advisory Committee. This group includes parents and family child care providers from various parts of the county who meet twice a year to share their ideas and assist in setting goals for the Network. As each year passes, we make every effort to meet the needs of the families and family child care providers currently participating in the Network.
