I know how difficult it can be to take the first steps to seek out therapy. My goal is to make you feel comfortable so that we can move beyond your history, past your current struggles, and open your life to beautiful new possibilities.

For each of us, there are many forces in our environments that push or pull us in varying directions. This may keep us stuck in patterns we don’t understand or see, sometimes resulting in anxiety, depression, or difficulty in relationships. I can help you navigate through the difficult times that result from these experiences and patterns, and I am skilled at helping you identify these forces, release the ones that don’t serve you, and strengthen the ones that support you.

For me, listening to others and entering with them into their pain is a high calling and a heartfelt privilege. I have extensive knowledge and experience working with people with traumatic experiences or abuse, including intimate partner violence. I have worked with teens for over seven years providing counseling and prevention efforts, including presentations to students regarding healthy relationships.

I hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego and a Masters in Social Work from Cal State University, Chico. I currently work with individual children, teens and adults. I use an eclectic approach for each person I am working with, because each of us is unique. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I also use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), trauma-focused CBT, play therapy, and elements of various other modalities.
