Elizabeth Grant, LMFT

I pursued the field of therapy, because I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families become more effective and fulfilled in their lives. I believe successful therapy involves finding a therapist who works well with you and you with them. I approach therapy using a collaborative inquiry process to access your emotional intelligence, strengths, and resources in support of realistic solutions and lasting change. I believe each client comes with their own experiences and needs, which is why I use a wide variety of treatment modalities. Some of the main approaches I use are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, play therapy, and client-centered therapy. I am a certified therapist in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and with the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA).

I have over 15 years of experience working in a therapeutic environment. My early work is in the field of mental health focused on residential juvenile treatment programs. Since 2013 I have worked at Plumas Rural Services in both Domestic Violence Services and in Counseling & Psychological Services. Working with children and teens is my passion. Having grown up in Quincy, I understand small town living and the joys and struggles that come with living here – I believe in connection with each other and that our community can help in the healing process.
